This award “seeks to celebrate individuals who understand the art and science of marketing, have the business, brand and category interest at heart, and who leverage their skills to grow all three”. It honours marketers who deliver results by leveraging the connections between data, strategy, creativity and technology.

Heidi is a Chartered Marketer and joined Hollard in 2013, having consulted with us for a year before that, and has overseen the elevation of the Hollard brand to a world leader when it comes to purpose-driven marketing. As well as leading the brand refresh in 2014 that went way beyond cosmetic changes, Heidi was also instrumental in the creation of Nothing Rhymes with Purple, our uniquely impactful and enduring onboarding programme.

Most recently, Heidi has led our “Hello” and “Big Ads for Small Business” brand campaigns, which have perfectly captured and expressed our desire to act as a catalyst for positive and enduring change and deliver better futures for our policyholders, our communities and South Africa. Under her leadership, the Hollard brand was elevated into the BrandZTM Top 30 Most Valuable South African Brands for the first time in 2020.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to the other finalists,  Khensani Nobanda, Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank; Doug Place, Chief Marketing Officer at Nando’s; Thulani Sibeko, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer at the Standard Bank Group, and Bernice Samuels, Group Marketing Executive at the MTN Group. We know that Heidi feels honoured to be considered part of this incredibly talented bunch of marketers and wish all finalists the best of Hollard luck for the Awards on 18 March.
