Our Funeral Plans are available to all South African citizens or permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 75, with a South African bank account. Here are some of the value-added options that you can choose from:
Paid-up Benefit
This benefit allows the policyholder to stop paying their Individual Funeral Benefit premiums when they reach 65 years old and still be covered by the policy. This benefit is also available for the policyholder’s partner, which means that the policyholder can stop paying the Partner's Funeral premium when they reach 65 years old and have their partner remain covered. However, the policyholder must be under 60 years of age to be eligible for this benefit.
Legal Benefit
In case there are legal repercussions after the death of a policyholder, Hollard offers you peace of mind via a legal 30-minute telephonic consultation, at no extra cost. This gives you and your loved ones one less thing to worry about.
Premium Holiday Benefit
To show you that we’re on your side all the time, we’ve decided to give you December off! This allows the policyholder to not pay their monthly premium (including any 3rd party value-added benefit premiums) every December after the first annual policy anniversary. Yes, you read that right! This means that we’ll give you cover every December after your first year with us, for free.
Premium Waiver Benefit
If the policyholder passes away before their 65th birthday, this benefit covers the remaining members of the policy until the policyholder would have turned 65 years old. In this way, we try to make sure that your family is still taken care of, even after your death.
Burial Repatriation Benefit
In case your loved one’s death was far from home, Hollard provides a transportation service to transport them to a funeral home closer to their burial site. This allows you to move them over a distance of more than 100km, but still within the borders of South Africa.
Airtime Benefit
When we are notified of the valid death of an insured person, we immediately provide you with an R250 airtime voucher, so that you can contact your loved ones without any waiting period.
